If you are a ministry leader you understand that statement completely. Being called to ministry was no light decision. Extensive prayer, counsel and preparation along with a subduing of your own self-will were probably a part of your individual journey to the present. The work of God can be rewarding and fulfilling. Even just the knowledge that I am in obedience to God and sharing the Good News with others is a source of contentment and peace. Seeing others’ changed lives brings great satisfaction, joy and hope.
We also know that ministry can be the most draining and downright discouraging position to be in. Everyone looks to you, the ministry leader, for answers to life’s hardest questions; to have all the right words and know just how to act in every situation. At the same time, Pastors, Missionaries and Para-Church Leaders are subject to the most criticism when you don’t meet the varying expectations of the congregation, the community, your family or even yourself. Oftentimes our own questions and pain get pushed aside in lieu of helping others; many times to the detriment of ourselves, our family and even those we most desire to minister to. Today’s Ministry Leaders are experiencing as much as or more stress than the people they serve. Many are leaving the pulpit after a few short years, disillusioned and hurting. Marriage problems and family difficulties within the ministry are real and exacerbated by the pressures and unrealistic expectations people have for those in ministry leadership.
If you are in ministry and don’t know how to get help for yourself, your marriage or your family, you are in the right place. Our hearts’ desire is to serve God’s prized servants. We are here to walk along side of you, share your heart and hurts in a safe, confidential setting. Biblical counseling and life coaching are available for individuals, Couples and Families.

Life can be hard and those in ministry are not exempt from tragedy, trauma and events that turn life upside down.
We can help in Crisis situations.
You don’t have to walk through a crisis or the process of recovery alone.
Marriage and Family
Marriages and families may feel extra pressure while in ministry. Biblical counseling can provide support and hope. Let us serve you compassionately and confidentially.

Retreats
Couples will be hosted in a special retreat location where you can process and heal from challenging life situations with the guidance of compassionate ministry friends. You can experience renewed hope and restored faith in God’s promises for your life.
How you can help….
Thank you for your interest in Spirit Wings, counseling for ministry leaders. This ministry was born out of love and compassion for those whose lives are dedicated to serving God through ministry. We long to lend a listening ear, caring heart and a shoulder to cry on for those who often feel there is no one they can turn to for help for themselves or their families because they are the help for everyone else.
Besides feeling isolated, ministry leaders often put their needs last. One of the reasons is that they usually have to either raise financial support for themselves or are supported by the Church or Ministry, which may have very limited funds. Ministry leaders find it difficult to ask for more finances to get help for themselves when they are trying to steward their support as carefully as possible. That’s why offering these counseling services at little or no cost to the minister is so crucial for them and their families.
Your financial support allows us to provide intensive counseling services in the ministry leader’s own home or at a remote location. This requires travel expenses for both the provider and the ministry leader. Couples retreats require a rented cabin or other location, travel and food expenses for the two couples: the ministry couple and the counselors.
